What is deep sternal wound infection?
Deep sternal wound infection (DSWI) also known as mediastinitis. Mediastinitis is inflammation of the tissues in the mid-chest, or mediastinum. This is one of the most feared complications after surgery and can significantly increase length of hospital stay and even require re-operation.
You can explore our studies below, showing Posthorax to be highly effective at preventing deep sternal wound infections.
